These easy Coca-Cola chicken wings are tender, savory, and coated in a thick, glossy sauce. Everything comes together in one pan, with simple ingredients and very little preparation. Serve them with sautéed asparagus for an easy and delicious dinner.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings

  • 10 chicken wings, cleaned
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce, divided
  • Fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 green onions
  • Olive oil
  • 200 ml Coca-Cola
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • 2 lemon slices
  • Salt, to taste

For the Asparagus

  • Fresh asparagus
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Instructions

1. Marinate the Chicken Wings

Place the chicken wings in a large mixing bowl.

Add the cooking wine, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, sliced ginger, and the white parts of the green onions cut into 2 cm pieces.

Finely chop the green tops and set them aside for later.

Mix everything well with your hands, gently massaging the wings so they absorb the marinade.

Let them marinate for 15 minutes.

2. Score the Wings

Transfer the marinated wings to a cutting board.

Make two shallow cuts on both sides of each wing. This helps the flavor penetrate and allows the chicken to cook more evenly.

3. Brown the Chicken

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil.

Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer and cook for about 3 minutes, or until golden on the bottom.

Flip and cook the other side for another 3 minutes.

4. Add the Sauce

Pour 200 ml of Coca-Cola into the pan.

Add 1 teaspoon of sugar, if using, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 lemon slices, and salt to taste.

Cover and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes.

5. Cook the Asparagus

Meanwhile, trim the tough ends from the asparagus.

Heat a separate skillet with a little olive oil.

Sauté the asparagus over medium heat for about 3 minutes.

Season with salt and black pepper, then toss well.

6. Reduce the Sauce

After 15 minutes, remove the lid from the chicken.

Flip the wings and continue simmering for another 2–3 minutes, or until the sauce becomes thick and glossy and coats the wings beautifully.

7. Serve

Transfer the glazed chicken wings to a serving plate and arrange the asparagus alongside them.

Sprinkle with the reserved chopped green onions and serve warm.

Enjoy!
